Understanding our faith so we can share it with others
A study based on the book of Hebrews on why we believe what we believe and how to share our faith with Muslims, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses and others.

I am excited about exploring together the reasons of faith and how to respectfully and knowledgeably share it with others.

God instructed us to “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that” we have, but to “do this with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15)

As we get to know God and seek to make God known in our community, questions always arise from others and, quite honestly, from ourselves. How do we know we are believing the right stuff?

This study group will attempt to find answers together to many of these questions and doubts that we often face.

Also, we are warned by Jesus that at the final judgment, many will call “Lord Lord” thinking that they had always been on the ‘good side’. Unfortunately, Jesus will answered them “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23). Hence the critical importance –with eternal and terrestrial consequences, of examining ourselves to see whether we are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Knowing why we believe what we believe will straighten our faith

and equip us to share it with others.

As we delve in the book of Hebrews, we will attempt to answer questions such as:

–          Why do we Christians believe what we believe?
–          How do we know the Bible is inspired by God
–          How do we know the Bible is trustworthy and accurately preserved today?
–          What do Muslims believe and why?
–          How do we know if the Koran is also inspired by God?
–          Why Christianity and not Islam?
–          What do Mormons believe and why?
–          How do we know if the Book of Mormon and other Mormon scriptures are also inspired by God?
–          Why Christianity and not Mormonism?
–          What do Jehovah Witnesses believe and why?
–          How do we know if the Jehovah Witnesses’ New World Translation is also inspired by God?
–          Why Christianity and not Jehovah Witnesses?

My commitment is to make my very best, investing my time and resources, to present as accurate and complete material, in the most simple and easy-to-understand way

My expectation from participants, is to do their very best to come prepared, with an open mind and humble heart, and use all this information to share it with others in the future –with family, kids, small groups, neighbors and anyone else who needs Christ, while taking personal responsibility in always making sure what we share is according to God’s Word: “Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true” (Acts 17:11)

We pray for God’s wisdom and love to enable us to reach this World with His power and grace.

Luis.
