God does miracles today

Posted: November 18, 2010 in Evangelism, Me and God, Me and people

Today I am reminded of three different, yet complementary thoughts about miracles:

–          The God I believe in, my God, my Father, is powerful and does amazingly great dramatic miracles. (water turned into wine, healings, Red Sea opening, resurrection)… and last week’s answer to Graystone’s prayer. I want to be used by God in those great type of miracles to be great in His eyes -don’t you?

–          However, on the flipside, we know Jesus said of John the Baptist: “…For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he…”, and interstingly enough, John didn’t do any of those amazing miracles. In fact we know from John 10:41-42 that “…John the Baptist didn’t do any miracle at all…”. So, what made John so great in Jesus’ eyes?, it goes on: “but all the things that John spoke about this Man [Jesus] were true, And many believed in Him there

–          We can be part of the greatest miracle of all, the miracle of salvation and new life. The miracle of seeing dead spiritual people born into a living vibrant relationship with God -everyday, by speaking about Jesus -the truth of Jesus and being a vehicle in speech and example,  for others to believe in Him.
